Review

Pizzerias in Vicenza, located about an hour west of Venice, serve typical Northern Italian style thin crust pizza. When the crust has flavor, and the ingredients are high quality, this type of pizza can be a highly competitive alternative to the thick crust, vegetable-heavy Neapolitan pizzas. Unfortunately the del Fogher did not deliver a good crust. The heavy amount of meat and fresh bell peppers are certainly enough to fill one’s stomach, but there was no real effort to create a fusion of base and toppings. Sometimes it is good to eat quantity and not quality, and if that is your eating objective, then del Fogher will probably satisfy. However, for a very crowded pizza crust, you are not getting much taste. I have had some excellent thin crust pizzas in both Rome and Venice but this was not one of them. On a scale of one to ten I give the toppings a 4 and the crust a 2
