Il Rudere has so far only produced good pizza for me, so for pizza 150 I decided to go with something known to be good. Unlike many of Il Rudere’s competitors, it has no sea front view to boast of, but that means it caters less to tourists and more to making uncompromising crust and good toppings for most of their Italian customers...

Da Michele is the ‘In and Out Burger’ of the Pizza world. They have two and only two pizza’s; Marinara (Garlic and Mozzarella) and Margherita (Tomato and Mozzarella and maybe basil).
You can always ask for more mozzarella (they offer the ‘double’) so that effectively leaves the menu at 3 pizzas deep if you order it so……

If Joseph Conrad’s novel ‘Heart of Darkness’ was written about any other place than the Congo in Colonial Africa, then it could have been set in Piazza Garibaldi in Naples. However, there are quite a few restaurants and pizzerias in this square that look worth visiting...

The pizza by itself is average, and probably doesn’t need to be anything else considering that the main clients of the restaurant I was at were French school students, German and Japanese tourists, and me. So no critical Italian gourmands here....

Well, this is my first pizza in Italy (I’m writing this afterwards because it has taken me a while to type my written notes). I started out just eating at the pizzeria that was closest to my hotel, and working through their menu. I was impressed at the time by the authentic brick oven...
