Texas-Pizza may sound like an oxymoron, but that is what Bob and Clare’s Pizzeria is trying to achieve with their old world pizzeria meets western saloon theme. Judging from the high number of children running around the restaurant with balloon animals, I would say I was in more of a party venue than a pizzeria. While Bob and Clare’s does serve every conceivable kind of traditional Italian pizza (Margherita , Marinara, Quattro Stagioni) I tried their signature pizza, The Ranch. Think of this pizza as a kind of cowboy stew (baked beans, strips of bacon, stewed tomatoes) on pizza dough. The pizza was not bad, but like the protein heavy cowboy stew I have had before, the dish is more about filling your stomach than pleasing your palate. Like the other kind of pizza I had that featured baked beans (Pizza #: 32, The Mexisassa), the taste does not enhance pizza crust or pizza toppings. On a scale of one to ten I give the toppings a 3 and the crust a 5
