IL Cerbero, or in English Cerberus, named for the mythological three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the underworld, is a restaurant with a good view, and average buffalo mozzarella Pizza. On a side note, why would you need a three headed dog to guard the entrance to hell….wouldn’t you need the dog to guard the exit…..? Anyway, aside from my Roman mythology musings, the wood-fired oven cooked pizza has a juicy taste to it from the tomato puree and the mozzarella. It makes it almost impossible to eat without rolling the pizza slices over on one another the way many of the Neapolitans eat their pizza. I didn’t hang around for the sunset as I was in a hurry, but the view from Il Cerbero overlooks the bay of Naples. I didn’t check to see if they had one of the EU’s official Pizza Neapolitan certificates I’ve heard about, but the cooking method was in accordance (2 minute cook time, small tomatoes from base of Vesuvius, super thin crust….) I’ll check next time. On a scale of one to ten I give the toppings a 5.5 and the crust a 4
